Get ready for an action-packed day at the Dog Day Market at Syringa Park this Sunday! Calling all Gauteng canicrossers, it’s time to come pull in for a fantastic combined social run with the Fourways Club, Meyerton Club, West Rand Club, and Pretoria East Club. We can’t wait to see all you canicrossers out in force for this special event, kicking off at 08h30.
Whether you’re from the “we had to figure it out ourselves” generation or the “there’s an app for that” generation, it doesn’t matter if you’re as fast as Mo Farah or more like “No Farther.” No matter what breed your dog is or your preferred pace—run, walk, crawl, or cartwheel—you will be welcomed by the Canicross South Africa community. Just be sure to pop over to our ‘events’ page to RSVP for the social run. Remember, pre-registration is essential; we cannot allow walk-ins on the day.
After our exhilarating social run, we’ll dive straight into the market! Stroll around the stalls, grab a delicious breakfast, and don’t miss out on some awesome gear and fabulous giveaways from the Canicross stand.
We can’t wait to see you all there! Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit. Make sure to RSVP today and get ready for a great time!
Exciting developments are on the horizon for Canicross South Africa as we reflect on the recent International Canicross Federation (ICF) Annual General Meeting (AGM). With the upcoming World Cup in Poland and next year’s World Championships in Slovakia on the agenda, our community is poised for significant international participation.
South Africa’s membership in the ICF has officially been recognized, marking a monumental step for our country in the global canicross scene. This recognition comes on the heels of a robust membership base, which has facilitated the growth of our clubs across the nation. We are thrilled to announce that we now have four active clubs in South Africa, serving as a testament to the increasing popularity of canicross.
Additionally, our introduction to canicross courses has seen a surge of new participants eager to join the ranks of this exhilarating sport. We are also proud to introduce multiple new venues that enhance the canicross experience. From Riversand Farm Village and Jodev Farm to Hobby Park in the West Rand and Cradle Moon, where we’ve enjoyed runs alongside plains game, the opportunities for adventure are endless. Let’s not forget our vibrant clubs in Cape Town, including the Southern Suburbs and Cape Winelands, which are thriving and welcoming new members.
As we gear up for these exciting competitions and opportunities, we invite all dog lovers and athletes to join us in this dynamic sport. Get involved, connect with your local club, and unleash the potential of canicross in South Africa!
